About the Department

The Department of Chemistry is more than fifty years old and is well known for its par excellence in academic and research programs in various areas of Chemistry both nationally and internationally. The Department has been recipient of various developmental Grants from National agencies. Since 1972, the Department is continuously receiving Grants under Special Assistance Programme of the UGC.  The Department after successfully completing Sixth Phase of DSA in 2005 and First Phase (2005-2010) of Centre of Advanced Study (CAS) in 2011, has been sanctioned the second phase of Centre of Advanced Study in 2013. The Department has been recipient of Major Equipment grants under FIST program of the DST and BSR grant of the UGC. The Department is well recognized for High status of research. The faculty is actively engaged in traditional as well as emerging areas of research in chemistry. Many of them have interdisciplinary collaboration with national and international Institutes and Universities and receive financial support from various funding agencies. 

 

About the University

University of Rajasthan (http://uniraj.ac.in) situated in the heart of the City, was established in 1947 as a multi-faculty University. The University, having A+ accreditation by NAAC (2004-2009), offers UG, PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines at 37 Departments, 22 Centers and 6 Constituent Colleges besides 1350 Affiliated Colleges. UGC has recognized the University amongst the top 15 Indian Universities with Potential for Excellence (UPE) in 2012. The University provides state-of-art research facilities supported through UGC-SAP, UPE, DST-FIST, PURSE program grants. 

 

About the City

Jaipur known as pink city, founded by Maharaja Jai Singh-II (1693-1743) is the largest city of Rajasthan, known among the most popular destinations in India for its rich heritage, culture and architecture. The sites of tourist interest are Amer Palace, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Manter and many more.

Jaipur is well connected with the rest of the country by rail, road and air. The weather is quite pleasant during the month of March.
